Educational Qualification Details :
The educational requirements vary depending on the service selected:
- For Indian Economic Service (IES): Candidates must have obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a recognized University.

Age Limit :
As of 1st August 2026, the age limit is:

Selection Process :
The selection process consists of two main parts:
- Part I (Written Examination): A written exam carrying a maximum of 1000 marks. For ISS, Statistics I & II are objective type, while others are descriptive. For IES, all papers are descriptive.
- Part II (Viva-Voce): A personality test for candidates who qualify the written exam, carrying a maximum of 200 marks.
